Did our spy photographer take the electric Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo without camouflage? No. It’s Porsche itself that ‘leaks’ a few photos. The car on display is the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: the station wagon version of the Porsche Taycan, which is very SUV-like slightly higher on its wheels.
The Porsche Taycan was first unveiled in 2015, as a Porsche Mission E Concept. Three years later he was joined by the Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Concept: a station wagon with more ground clearance and some rough plastic on the flanks. It soon became clear that not only the Mission E would go into production (as Taycan), but also the Cross Turismo.
And this year it’s time. The Porsche Taycan range will be expanded with the Cross Turismo, which not only offers a lot more luggage space than its sedan brother, but also some more off-road qualities. Now, of course, you have to take the latter with a healthy pinch of salt, because you only buy a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo for the looks. You don’t look up the mud with it.
Porsche has not yet announced specifications of the Taycan Cross Turismo, but of course we can easily guess at that. The ‘regular’ Taycan is roughly in four flavors: Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo
and Taycan Turbo S. Only the first one has rear-wheel drive, the rest has 4WD. ELECTRIC PORSCHE TAYCAN CROSSThe Porsche Taycan has 408 hp and a range of up to 431 kilometers (without Performance Battery Plus). If you choose the Porsche Taycan 4S you have 530 hp at your disposal and after 408 kilometers you urgently have to look for a charging station (without Performance Battery Plus). Both top models – the Turbo and Turbo S – come to 680 hp/452 kilometers and 761 hp/416 kilometers respectively.
Very soon Porsche will show the Taycan Cross Turismo in its catch. We have to wait until the end of the summer before he comes on the market here. What it will cost is not yet known. The regular Porsche Taycan is available from 87,200 euros for the rear-wheel drive version. If you want four-wheel drive, you have to put at least 110,600 euros on the table.
