The trade magazine Driving school pro delved into the figures of the Chamber of Commerce and discovered that the number of driving schools has fallen sharply in the past year. Driving schools demonstrated at Binnenhof

Last year in the summer months driving lessons were allowed and students could take exams. In the lockdown before and after the driving schools were not allowed to open. At the end of February, around two hundred driving schools demonstrated in Rijswijk and The Hague, near the headquarters of the CBR and at the Binnenhof. They wanted to let politicians know that they are all right.

Huge waiting lists for a CBR exam

Driving lessons have been given again since the beginning of March. Pupils who had an exam that did not pass due to the lockdown will receive priority at the CRB. The waiting time for a practical exam is currently 20 weeks. According to the CBR – if the pass rate remains as low as it is now – about 600,000 tests and exams will have to be passed.
