Thierry Neuville about World Rally Championship: “It’s fantastic that all constructors are committed to the end of 2024”

On Wednesday morning, the WRC promoter sent out a press release to announce that Hyundai Motorsport, M-Sport and Toyota have reached an agreement to participate in the World Championship rally with hybrid cars from 2022 to the end of 2024. Thierry Neuville, who has been participating in the World Championship rally with a Hyundai since 2013, is enthusiastic.

A few months ago, Thierry Neuville did not hide the fact that he is rather critical of the arrival of the hybrid rally cars. In a short statement delivered by his team’s press manager, he responds enthusiastically. “It is fantastic news that Hyundai Motorsport and all manufacturers have signed a three-year agreement to step into the new hybrid era together and compete in the World Rally Championship from 2022. We need to adapt to future sustainability challenges. I am pleased that our sport is moving in that direction and is a great testing ground for the automotive technology of tomorrow, ”says Neuville.
