BMW M4 CSL: Stronger lightweight variant of the BMW M4 on the way

It is difficult to see through the camouflage foil, but in the swirl of black and white shapes we do see changes to the M4 body. The pig nose remains – unfortunately – the same, but a few aerodynamic adjustments have suddenly been added. Under the front bumper is some extra wing, it seems, and at the rear we actually see a ducktail spoiler, like the BMW M3 CSL also had.

New BMW M4 is quite a heavyweight

According to insiders, the BMW M4 CSL will be on the market in the summer of 2022, in a limited edition. For example, only 1383 units of the M3 CSL were built in 2004. The car was 110 kilograms lighter than the regular M3 and weighed just under 1390 kilos. The latest M4 is considerably heavier, with a vehicle weight of almost 1700 kilos.

With up to 510 hp from a six-cylinder in-line engine

The standard M4 comes in two variants: with 480 hp, 550 Nm and a manual gearbox, and with 510 hp, 650 Nm and a dual-clutch transmission. Both are powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine with two turbos. There will also be an M4 with four-wheel drive, where the front axle can be disconnected for better drifting work.
