Price Comparison: Toyota Yaris Cross vs. Renault Captur, Hyundai Kona, Honda Jazz Crosstar

Toyota Yaris Cross

The cheapest Toyota Yaris Cross with a hybrid powertrain costs 30,995 euros and we think that is a large amount for such a small SUV. But then you get a pretty luxurious car: the First Edition is the current basic version and has extensive safety equipment with adaptive cruise control, a large touchscreen with navigation and a reversing camera. You know what, we’re going wild and take another version more expensive, with tough 18-inch alloy wheels and an (in 2021) indispensable wireless phone charger. Then we are talking about a car for 34,595 euros. And that’s not even outrageously expensive when you look at the competition.

Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid (1.5 hybride, 116 pk)

  • Executive version – 34,595 euros
  • Adaptive cruise control – standard
  • Navigation System – Standard
  • Reversing camera – standard
  • 18″ Alloy – Standard
  • Wireless Phone Charger – Standard

Total: 34,595 euros

Cheaper: Renault Captur

Dressing up a Renault Captur with the desired options feels like filling a candy bag with Jamin: I like a few 18-inch wheels (395 euros) and a portion of Tom Tom (395 euros). Adaptive cruise control (795 euros) is my guilty pleasure and a reversing camera (395 euros) is always there. Finally, something small to fill the bag with: a wireless charger for 95 euros.

Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid (1.6 hybrid, 143 pk)

  • Intense version – 30,790 euros
  • Adaptive cruise control – 795 euros
  • Navigation system – 395 euros
  • Reversing camera – 395 euros
  • 18-inch alloy – 395 euros
  • Wireless phone charger – 95 euros

Total: 32,865 euros

Duurder: Hyundai Kona

In terms of luxury, the Hyundai Kona Premium is a good match for the Yaris Cross Executive. Because in addition to the checked options, both SUVs have digital instruments with a head-up display, a lot of safety systems and heated seats. But the basic version of the Kona Hybrid is also quite complete and costs 28,675 euros – 2320 euros less than the base Yaris.

Hyundai Kona Hybrid (1.6 hybride, 141 pk)

  • Premium version – 34,975 euros
  • Adaptive cruise control – standard
  • Navigation System – Standard
  • Reversing camera – standard
  • 18″ Alloy – Standard
  • Wireless Phone Charger – Standard

Total: 34,975 euros

Cheaper: Honda Jazz Crosstar

Honda is coming soon with the HR-V Hybrid. This SUV has a stubborn design, just like the Yaris Cross. But the only thing we can say about the price is that its predecessor costs 30 grand. In the absence of information, here is the Honda Jazz Crosstar, the tough brother of the regular Jazz. It has some advanced systems, but no 18-inch alloy or a wireless phone charger.

Honda Jazz Crosstar (1.5 hybrid, 109 hp)

  • Crosstar version – 31,540 euros
  • Adaptive cruise control – standard
  • Navigation System – Standard
  • Reversing camera – standard
  • 18-inch alloy – not available
  • Wireless phone charger – not available

Total: 31,540 euros
