“I was lucky”: Liam Everts seemed on his way to the podium, but then he suddenly flew over his dirt bike through the air

Everts was already half a second off the podium last Tuesday and was therefore keen to score such a top place. In the last round in Pietramurata he took on Hakon Fredriksen. Everts looked like his father for a moment because of the way he passed the Swede, but things went wrong on a descending part. Everts timed his jump wrong and went head over heels. “I was lucky today,” it sounds on Facebook.
“Fortunately, everything is okay”, Dad Stefan says from Italy. “His butt and pelvis were able to absorb the blow. He will only have muscle soreness for a few days.”

Everts, however, seemed to get away without much damage. Our compatriot corrected his mistake to finish sixth, and seventh overall. Everts is now fourth in the World Cup standings with 227 points. Italian Nicholas Lapucci leads the pack with 345 points.
