In a statement, the Williams F1 team said Frank Williams was taken to hospital last Friday and passed away this morning at the age of 79, peacefully surrounded by his family.
Frank Williams founded the Williams F1 team in 1977, one of the most successful in the sport’s history. In total, the Williams F1 team achieved 114 victories, nine constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ titles.
