The Kia EV6 will soon have a little brother: an electric city car

Kia has expanded its electric plans considerably. The brand initially planned to bring eleven plug models to the market in the next four years. That will now be fourteen between now and 2027. So there is a lot of work to be done. From 2023 we will see two electric Kia’s every year, starting with the Kia EV9.

Kia EV9 is a giant suv 5 meters long

That will be a car that we would be a bit surprised if it came to the Netherlands. The EV9 is a huge SUV of 5 meters long, with a range of about 540 kilometers and enough power to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.

A Kia Picanto-esque electric city car is coming

Kia also announces that it will build a few electric pick-ups, but also an affordable entry-level model. Think of a Kia Picanto, but electric. For this year, Kia has set itself the goal of selling 160,000 electric cars. By 2026, there should already be 807,000. Fairly modest targets, because Kia will sell a total of about 3.15 million cars this year.
