Buy a house? Thanks to your private lease car you now get much less mortgage

Now it is true that a private lease contract is 65 percent registered with the BKR. That will be 100 percent from April 1. And that has an effect on the mortgage you can get. Mortgage lenders expect that the maximum loan amount for private lease drivers can be tens of thousands of euros to a ton lower.

Popularity of private lease is steadily growing

Last year there were more than 230,000 private lease contracts in the Netherlands. And that number is growing rapidly. The advantages of private lease are clear: you pay a fixed amount every month for your car, which includes all the insurance, road tax, depreciation, maintenance, tires and any repairs.
