MotoGP World Champion Fabio Quartararo drives to victory in Portuguese GP


Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) won the Portuguese Grand Prix in MotoGP on Sunday. He also takes the lead in the world championship.

The reigning world champion dominated the fourth World Cup round from start to finish and was five seconds ahead of his compatriot Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), who had started from pole. Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) completed the podium.

Thanks to the victory, Quartararo is leading the World Cup next to Spaniard Alex Rins (Suzuki), fourth on Sunday. Espargaro is third.
