How angry they will be at Seat! Only Cupra, Skoda and VW get compact EV

There are rumors that the Volkswagen Group wants to get rid of Seat. And those rumors are becoming more and more credible. This is partly due to the fact that Seat is the only VW brand that does not yet have an electric car. And also not going to get. These upcoming compact EVs are only for Cupra, Skoda and Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen Group posted these three design sketches on Twitter. They show electric city cars, which will be on the market in 2025 at Cupra, Skoda and Volkswagen. They are on a shortened version of the MEB platform and all three will be released in Spain.

Volkswagen ID. Life and Cupra Urban Rebel

We have already seen two of the three electric cars in concept form. Volkswagen unveiled the ID study model last year. Life and Cupra showed the UrbanRebel to the public. The final production models will just look completely different. The Cupra retains some of the UrbanRebel’s design features, but the ID. Life has been sent back to the drawing board.

Seat still won’t get an electric car

We are rumored to get to see the first of the three small EVs at the end of this year. According to insiders, the cars are the same under the skin, but they will differ more from each other in appearance than the Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born do now. And Seat? That draws the short straw and still does not get electric models. They probably won’t be happy about that.
