Motocross rider Jago Geerts finishes third in Spanish GP

Jago Geerts (Yamaha) finished third in the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday in Arroyomolinos (Madrid), the ninth of nineteen rounds in the MX2 World Championship.

After a ninth place (12 points) in the first series, Geerts was second (22 points) in the second series. He only had to tolerate the Frenchman Tom Vialle (KTM), the eventual winner with 50 points. The German Simon Laengenfelder (GasGas) was good for second place with 42 points. Geerts collected a total of 34 points and ended up in third place.

After his sixth place in the first heat, Liam Everts (KTM) also achieved an excellent result in the second heat with a fourth place. Everts thus ends up in the standings, with 33 points, behind compatriot Jago Geerts, in 4th place.

In the World Cup standings, Jago Geerts lost his first place to Vialle. Geerts is now second with 372 points, ten points behind the French leader. Laengenfelder is third with 287 points. Liam Everts is 13th with 116 points.
