Easy choice, of course. What to do with five hundred Mitsubishi Space Stars, clearly one of the most mediocre cars on the market? Then the new Pagani Huayra Codalunga, on which you are sure to make a profit, even if it costs 7 million euros.
We’re going to play devil’s advocate right away and throw the bat in the chicken corner. The Pagani Huayra is not a beautiful super sports car: with its unsightly fish mouth, weird aer flaps, much too large closing seams and bizarre over-the-top interior. But apparently we are in the minority with that opinion, because no matter how expensive the Pagani models are, they sell like warm ciabatta sandwiches.
If you have money, you can simply submit your wish list to Pagani. And so did two wealthy clients. They asked Horacio Pagani to develop a longer version of the Huayra. The project eventually took two years and resulted in five copies of the Pagani Huayra Codalunga. In Italian ‘coda lunga’ literally means ‘long tail’, so that suits this car, which is no less than 36 centimeters longer than a ‘regular’ Huayra.
In the back is, as always, a twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG. The block produces 851 hp and 1100 Nm of torque, and only has to propel 1280 kilograms of vehicle weight. Pagani does not speak about performance, but assume a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 3 seconds. The top speed of this Huayra is above 350 km/h. Incidentally, you also have to add taxes to the price of 7 million euros. And that apparently was not a problem for five buyers, because all Codalungas have already been sold.
