Nico Rosberg predicts ‘fireworks’ between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc

Will we have the first major incident between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc this season during the GP of France? It would come as no surprise to Nico Rosberg, the German is surprised how ‘clean’ the title fight has gone so far.

The contrast with last season is indeed astonishingly large. Last season we had one incident after another between title rivals Hamilton and Verstappen, while we have not yet seen that between Leclerc and Verstappen this season.

According to Nico Rosberg, that cannot last and we can expect ‘fireworks’ later this season. After all, according to Rosberg, it is not possible for the title fight to continue without incident.

“Honestly, I’m really surprised because they’ve done so many wheel-to-wheel battles, so intense,” the 2016 world champion told Sky Sports F1.

“There’s never been a moment that leads to discussion or anything, that’s a huge surprise.”

That title fight without major incidents between Leclerc and Verstappen cannot last, according to Nico Rosberg.

“I’d even bet my house on it,” Rosberg joked. “This is not going to last the entire season. With the amount of times they compete wheel-to-wheel, there must come a time when they bump into each other, have a different opinion or have some other incident.”

“Show us. As a fan, we obviously want things to get a bit stoked and heated, I’m sure we’ll get that soon.”
