Haas F1 team not rushed to give Mick Schumacher new contract: “The game is played hard”

Mick Schumacher should not hope for a new contract with the Haas F1 team during the summer break. The American team would not be in a rush to enter into contract talks with Mick Schumacher.

According to the German channel RTL, the Haas F1 team would have pressed the figurative ‘pause button’ regarding the negotiations with Mick Schumacher. Mick Schumacher hopes to have clarity about his future before the summer break.

“Schumacher will not be given a new contract with the Haas F1 team during the summer break as team principal Guenther Steiner is no longer in a rush to negotiate and extend the contract with Schumacher,” it said.

Team boss Guenther Steiner would like to play the game with Mick Schumacher hard because he would have few to no options besides Haas. Mick Schumacher threatens to become the biggest victim of the announced F1 farewell to good friend Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel will leave the Aston Martin F1 team at the end of this season and expressed his preference for Mick Schumacher as his successor at the racing stable. At Aston Martin, however, they decided to sign Fernando Alonso as a replacement. Also in other teams there are few if any better alternatives for Mick Schumacher than the Haas F1 team.
