Frenchman Tom Vialle wins GP in Finland, Jago Geerts (3rd) remains leader in MX2 standings


Frenchman Tom Vialle (KTM) has won the Grand Prix of Finland in MX2 in the Motocross World Championship. Vialle won the sixteenth GP of the season in Hyvinkää with a total of 47 points, with a second and first place in the series, ahead of Dutchman Kay de Wolf (Husqvarna), who scored 42 points with a third and second place in the series . Jago Geerts (Yamaha) won the first heat but only finished seventh in the second heat. This earned him 39 points.


Vialle put an end to three consecutive victories of the 22-year-old Belgian with his win. Geerts remains in the lead in the championship with 676 points, ahead of Vialle (661). The German Simon Längenfelder (GasGas) is already well ahead with 535 points.

Liam Everts (KTM) finished in fifth place, finishing seventh in the first heat and fourth in the second. He climbs to tenth place in the world championship with 257 points.

The next Grand Prix will be held in France on August 21.
