Italian GP: third practice session: Max Verstappen fastest

After Ferrari was the fastest during the two practice sessions on Friday, Max Verstappen managed to record the best time during the last practice session. Verstappen was more than three tenths faster than Charles Leclerc, who set the second fastest time in the Ferrari.

Prior to the last practice session, it was announced that Nyck de Vries would make his official GP debut. The Dutchman replaces Alex Albon at Williams, the British Thai has to be absent for the rest of the race weekend due to appendicitis. Yesterday Nyck de Vries tested with the Aston Martin F1 car, earlier this season he also did the same with the F1 cars from Mercedes and Williams.

Yesterday Ferrari impressed with a fastest time in both practice sessions. Performing in front of the home crowd is a must and given the many grid penalties for the competition, the Tifosi undoubtedly expect nothing less than a victory for Charles Leclerc.

It was difficult for Nyck de Vries, he only got one practice session in the Williams F1 car to prepare for qualifying and the race. Fortunately for him, he was also allowed to test F1 car with the Aston Martin yesterday, but of course one F1 car is not the other.

In the end it was Max Verstappen who set the fastest time with a comfortable lead of more than three tenths over Charles Leclerc.
