Top and flop – the good and bad car news of week 47

Friday afternoon, half past four. Computer off, the door of your workplace can be closed behind you, the weekend has started. On we look back on a week in which we hear that there will finally be an affordable adult electric car. But also that petrol and diesel will become more expensive again. Good news, bad news. Top and flop.

+ Top – The price of the new MG4 Electric is a breakthrough

The MG4 Electric will still be in the Dutch showroom in 2022. MG has finally revealed the price of this ID.3 competitor, and we were blown away. In a positive sense, that is.

+ Top – Electric Abarth 500e blows past the Fiat 500e

Do you also like the Fiat 500e? Just wait until you meet its hot little brother: the Abarth 500e. A larger range, more power and also: more noise! Huh, with an electric car?

+ Top – The savior of the Porsche 911 celebrates his 25th birthday

In 1997, the Porsche 996 was still considered a sacrilege for many Porsche purists. 25 years later everything is different and the appreciation is only increasing. And rightly so, because without the 996 generation, things would have ended badly for Porsche … In addition, the 996 has resulted in a number of important breakthroughs. Therefore: three cheers for the jubilee Porsche 996!

– Flop – Gasoline and diesel will soon be (much) more expensive again!

In recent weeks, the national recommended prices of petrol and diesel have finally fallen below 2 euros. At cheap gas stations you can even go for 1.75 euros. But that won’t be long now. Because as it turns out: Sinterklaas has a silly gift in store for everyone who drives on petrol or diesel.

– Flop – Actually 322 km / h in the Tesla Model S Plaid? Can Tesla catch up?

The blistering Tesla Model S Plaid is finally in the Netherlands, with a 0-100 in 2.1 seconds and a top speed of 322 km / h. Only that top speed will cost you thousands of euros. And we’re not talking about speeding tickets…

– Flop – Bad cars are still made after all …

We thought that really bad cars are no longer being made. The Consumers’ Association thinks otherwise. Following the latest reliability survey among cars up to 10 years old, the union handed out a few big unsatisfactory marks. Fortunately, there were also good numbers. Is your (next) car in the top lists?
